blkmoodyboi, is dedicated to uplifting Black and Brown Trans voices through art. Their mission is to create a space where love, tenderness, and resistance are celebrated in every piece
blkmoodyboi is a non-binary Trans Afro-Indigenous Caribbean Latinx self-taught illustrator. Drawing inspiration from comics, anime, and community, their colourful style reflects the beauty and struggles of marginalised identities. Their work focuses on the globalised working class, migrants and dissident genders. Their practice is one that is collective, beyond the individual, they do jobs that have a communal purpose and meaning at a community level. The works align with their day to day politics and activist work on class consciousness, migration, anti-capitalism, pro survivor narratives and disability and land justice
In a world dominated by white cis-het patriarchal capitalism, blkmoodyboi uses art as a form of radical resistance. Their illustrations depict the proletariat and global struggles, showcasing racialised people as political subjects rather than objects. They understand their role to be one of a political educator, organiser and artist. An artist that speaks on the times and makes joining the struggle irresistible
